Inside the Cabin
A bit of History

On one of several vacations through the Northern Range of Yellowstone, Gary and Diane stumbled upon this unique cabin under construction in their favorite neck of the woods, Cooke City.  Built in 2002, they decorated and moved in just before winter arrived.  The following summer, the cabin began receiving summer visitors.  Guests from all over the world have visited the cabin for vacations, reunions, retreats and honeymoons!

The cabin proudly supports the Yellowstone Association at the level of "Yellowstone Guardian."  It is a business member of the Cooke City/Colter Pass/Silver Gate Chamber of Commerce since 2003 and supports many of the community's fundraisers including construction of the new Cooke City welcome center.

The Montana Rocky Top Cabin is Secluded, Serene and Surrounded by

Inside the Cabin

What a spectacular view from this private log home! The Montana Rocky Top Cabin is a luxury vacation cabin in the Cooke City/Colter Pass area -- a one-of-a-kind elegant cabin with amazing views of mountain peaks in every direction!

Best of all, Yellowstone is only a short 10 minute drive and the Lamar Valley, famous for its wildlife and wolf-watching opportunities, is only 30 minutes west. Only 30 minutes to the east is Top of the World, where visitors soak up the beauty of the
Beartooth Scenic Byway.

Every window of the Montana Rocky Top Cabin frames a picture postcard view of the surrounding wilderness and mountain peaks. The huge front porch offers the perfect vantage point for wildlife watching and star gazing! For your comfort, the home has one queen sized aspen log bed in the master bedroom, two twin-sized beds in the sleeping loft and one twin-sized bed in the downstairs TV room (with large VCR tape collection).

The cabin's kitchen is fully equipped and bedroom/ bathroom linens are brand new. Decorated for and by wildlife enthusiasts, the interior was designed with everyone from fly fishing groups to small families to romantic couples in mind. White oak flooring, wildlife art, animal furs, aspen and juniper accents, leather love seat and rocking chairs add to its western charm.

Visitors to the cabin travel only 3 miles east from Cooke City and 3/4 miles off Highway 212 then wind through the forest along the Clark’s Fork to arrive at the cabin, which sits at 8,600 feet. Situated on an acre that borders the Gallatin National Forest, it is a great starting point for exploration and adventure!

Resident wildlife including mountain fox, moose, deer, elk, eagle and an occasional bear have been spotted from the windows and front porch! Rivers and numerous pristine lakes offer fishing within a short hike of the cabin. Astronomy telescope also provided for a night sky tour!
